I am proud that we have done this work together as a community. The State of the City event on September 23 will focus on just that: coming together as a community in difficult times and using the lessons to create a better future. We will explore where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and the importance of doing it as a community. We’ll discuss collective achievements and our shared vision for Boise. One that focuses on the values we all hold close: a safe and thriving community, neighborhood connectedness, and opportunity for all. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event will be virtual. I look forward to sharing my direction for Boise with you - and look forward to this virtual event together. Date: Wednesday, September 23 Time: 6 p.m. WATCH PREMIERE Mayor McLean Outlines Strategic Priorities for City of Boise When I took office in January, I set priorities for our new administration with the feedback I received from the community in mind. At that time, our city was at a pivotal moment of growth and it was clear we must take action to protect what we love about our community. Since then our community has experienced unprecedented hardship. Along with the rest of the nation, we have had to address the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on our health and economy. The needs of our residents are even more pressing, and this moment requires that we protect what we love about our community – safe, strong neighborhoods, open space and clean water – while protecting the health of our residents and preparing for a strong economic recovery. As we look to the future, the goals we’ve set for the next six months are designed to guide our work to ensure that Boise recovers and is a city for everyone. We’ve passed the 2021 budget and our administration is focused on building partnerships, engaging the community and implementing these priorities. View Strategic Priorities Mayor Lauren McLean was sworn in on January 7, 2020, and immediately set to work towards her campaign promise of a 21st-century Boise for everyone, powered by clean renewable energy, with shared prosperity across all neighborhoods, and a commitment to transparency and openness in government.
